R.I.P Ray Bradbury. The Martian Chronicles was an absolutely amazing collection

The Martian ChroniclesThe Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beautiful, well written, and invigorating. This is one of the most well written short story collections I have ever read. This book opened up science fiction as a genre I can truly enjoy. The fact he has died today truly brings today a certain foreboding weight.

  1. On the way into NYC to go to BookExpo America, I ran across someone reading this. It’s a great book that I loved as a child, and have read through two copies of it.

  2. It’s definitely my favorite work by him, and one of my all time favorite short story collections. The only things that relatively compares in the short story department is David Foster Wallace’s “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men” and Vonnegut’s “Welcome To The Monkey House”.
