The Daily Doodle is a blog managed by David Michael Chandler. Here’s a summary of what he does on a regular basis; he makes a unique drawing that is extremely stylized, and attaches a short story to them. These stories take the form of poems or prose, whichever he feels like doing. They have a modern, internet fairy tale feel to them.
He is also is going to be providing a cover for Too Obscene, an upcoming zine published by Nostrovia! Poetry. It’s specifically a housing for poems and flash fiction deemed “too obscene” to be published, but there’s room for all genres, obscene or not.
The cover is going to chosen by all of you. There’s going to be a vote. There’s going to be multiple drawings of his provided for your viewing and voting pleasure, and it’s your job to decide which one becomes the cover. That’ll be soon. There’s are still some details that need to hashed out.
And just because we house the obscene does not mean we will publish your poem titled “Fuck The Fucking Fuck” in which you repeatedly swear with no reason beyond the act of swearing. Profanities can be used to enhance writing, when used correctly, though most of the time, it’s not.

“The Boy Who Was Born at Midnight”
Every child born at midnight, can see inter-dimensional creatures
Glowing blobs of paraphysical energy, with no humanlike features.
They live alongside us on Earth, our dimension parallel with theirs’
And they seem less than enthused, at the Boy’s confused stares.
Our simple brains can’t comprehend, their motives or desires.
They enjoy playing with the human race, and watching what transpires.
Existing between time and space, toying with our lives
And they hate being seen, so no child born at midnight survives.
The creatures approach the poor boy’s bed, and start melting his brain
As easy as it is for us to squish a bug, they drive him totally insane.
I personally enjoy the unique combination of poetry art. What do you think?
