Nostrovia! Poetry and Underground Books will be at the 2013 NYC Poetry Festival. Other magazines and publishers that will be there include Coldfront Magazine, Exit Strata, Gigantic, Five Quarterly, The Poetry Society of NY, and quite a number of others. You can read the full line-up here.
There will be over 50 reading series, and over 200 poets participating in this year’s festival.
The festival will feature poets from major institutions like Cave Canem, the New York Browning Society, and TinHouse along with smaller grassroots series like the ASL Slam, a team of poets working in American Sign Language; the Good Times Collective, a collection of female poets from the outer boroughs; and Shitluck Reading Series, a brilliant up-and-coming series run out of the dive bar, Tip Top Grill, in BedStuy. Newcomers on the scene to keep an eye on include Brooklyn Poets, a brand new 501(c)3 featuring “big guns” like Dorothea Lasky, Timothy Donnelly, and Melissa Broder and the new Ear Inn Series, a revival of Charles Bernstein’s famous series from the 1970’s, held at the Ear Inn, who are also sponsoring the festival’s volunteer program.
